I have a plumbing emergency, what should I do?

Once that’s done, give us a call, whatever the day or time is. We’ll be there rapidly to fix the leak.

While you are waiting for the plumber to arrive, remove any important possessions from the area, and mop up any water or place a container to catch the drips. If you have turned the mains water off, switch off the hot water heating as well.

Help, I don’t know where the main water shutoff valve is!

You may have been shown it as a stopcock, isolating valve or toby. This valve is normally located on the boundary near the road, usually under a blue or black plastic cover.
